The lab started in September 2013, when Marco joined the Physics Department at Warwick.
We are lucky to have a large wetlab, where all the cell culturing and sample prep happens…
…and a temperature controlled microscopy room designed to keep vibrations as low as possible.
We are very happy to be sharing the lab space with the group of Vasily Kantsler. This gives us plenty of opportunity to share expertise and brainstorm over technical and scientific problems.
During term time we hold weekly joint group meetings with the groups of Matthew Turner, Gareth Alexander (theoreticians, working between the Physics Department and the Centre for Complexity) and Vasily Kantsler. The mix of theoreticians and experimentalists makes for stimulating exchange of ideas!
More widely across the University, we participate to fortnightly Brown Bag Synthetic Biology meetings organised by Orkun Soyer -but involving several groups across the University- and we are involved in the Warwick side of the Synthetic Biology DTC, teaching about microfluidics.
